WebCATs Frequently Asked Questions

1. I have forgotten my password. What should I do?    First, try your default password.  Your default user name for WebCATs is the combination of your first and last names, observing normal English upper and lower case usage for proper names. Your default WebCATs password is your last name, with the first letter of your last name capitalized. So if you are Jane Smith, your default WebCATs credentials are:

User Name: Jane Smith
Password:   Smith

(Remember: WebCATs user names and passwords are case sensitive!)

Be aware that passwords in WebCATs are limited to 10 characters. If your last name is longer than 10 characters, WebCATs will truncate your password to the first 10 characters. For example, if you are Peter Wiezenhiemerstein, your default WebCATs credentials are:

User Name: Peter Wiezenhiemerstein
Password:  Wiezenhiem

If your default password doesn't work, it's possible that you changed it. The WebCATs system is closely tied in to the CoursEval system, and your user name and password for WebCATs is the same as your user name and password for the CoursEval Results Reporting component. You can query CoursEval for your user name and password by first opening the CoursEval Results Reporting module by clicking here (link will open in a new window).  You will see a login area that looks like this:

At the lower left of the login area, you see a link that says "Forget your Password? Click here." If you click this link, you will be prompted for your email address. Enter your email address, and the server will return your user name and password via email (this will usually be within several minutes, but sometimes can take longer).

If the server does not recognize your email address, if your user name and password don't seem to work even after you have received them from the server, or if you do not receive an email with your user name and password within several hours after making the request, contact Len Cleavelin (Telephone: 8-3403).

2. What is the information used for?  Curriculum Committee review and monitoring of courses, generation of syllabi, annual reports to the accrediting bodies (American Council on Pharmaceutical Education and Southern Assn of Colleges and Schools).

3. How do I organize and enter course information? The WebCATs database is divided into two parts, course level information and session level information. Some information is required and other information is optional.  Please see the tables below.
